Fiji Airways today announced the appointment of Mr. Paul Scurrah as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 November 2025.
Mr. Scurrah brings over 25 years of extensive leadership experience across the aviation, transport, logistics, and tourism sectors. He has a proven track record of driving transformation, enhancing corporate culture, and delivering sustainable growth.
Before joining Fiji Airways, Mr. Scurrah served as CEO of Virgin Australia, where he led the airline through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. More recently, he headed Pacific National, Australia’s largest private rail freight company, steering operational and safety excellence initiatives.
This appointment ushers in a new era for Fiji Airways as it continues its focus on innovation, world-class customer service, and solid financial performance.
The airline also expressed gratitude to Mr. Andre Viljoen, who served as Managing Director and CEO for a decade. Under his leadership, Fiji Airways achieved record growth, earned global recognition, and navigated a successful post-pandemic recovery, firmly establishing Fiji’s national carrier as one of the top 10 airlines worldwide.
Mr. Viljoen will remain on the Fiji Airways Board of Directors to support a smooth leadership transition and ensure continuity.
This leadership change positions Fiji Airways to pursue its ambitious goals and build on its legacy of excellence in the Pacific aviation industry.
